Un peu d’histoire :
Depuis l’époque gallo-romaine, on retrouve l’existence de la localité de Crosville. Elle s’étendait sur près de 2 000 hectares.
Une paroisse se créa sous le vocable de Saint-Martin, mais son territoire était tellement vaste qu’une seconde paroisse vit le jour aux temps mérovingiens sous la protection de Saint-Aubin. Comme il avait jadis partagé son manteau avec les pauvres, Saint-Martin coupa en deux son domaine. Ainsi naquirent Crosville-la-Vieille d’une part, et Saint-Aubin-d’Ecrosville (de crosville) d’autre part.
Compensation peut-être, on réserva au Saint si charitable l’une des plus belles églises du Pays du Neubourg : l’église Saint-Martin, inscrit à l’Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques, caractérisée par le côté méridional de la nef : 3 travées construites en pierre de taille surmontées de 3 pignons avec gargouilles et animaux fantastiques du XVIe siècle. A l’intérieur, 3 mobiliers classés : des fonds baptismaux dont la cuve octogonale est sculptée et avec des vestiges de polychromie (XIVe siècle) ; un aigle-lutrin (XVIIe siècle) et une toile signée E. de Malassis (1705) située au dessus du maître-autel. Le chevet date de la fin du XIIe siècle. Grâce à l’association communale As de Chœur, l’église fait l’objet de toutes les attentions et actions de restauration du bâti et du mobilier.

A bit of history :
Crosville has existed since Gallo-Roman times. It covered an area of almost 2,000 hectares.
A parish was created under the name of Saint-Martin, but its territory was so vast that a second parish was created in Merovingian times under the protection of Saint-Aubin. As he had once shared his cloak with the poor, Saint-Martin cut his domain in two. This is how Crosville-la-Vieille and Saint-Aubin-d’Ecrosville (de Crosville) were created.
One of the most beautiful churches in the area was reserved for the charitable Saint : the church of Saint-Martin, listed in the French Supplementary Historic Monument List, characterised by the southern side of the nave: 3 bays built of ashlar surmounted by 3 gables with gargoyles and fantastic animals from the 16th century. Inside, there are 3 listed items of furniture: a baptismal font with a sculpted octagonal basin and vestiges of polychromy (14th century); an eagle-lutrin (17th century) and a canvas signed E. de Malassis (1705) above the high altar. The chevet dates from the end of the 12th century. Thanks to the communal association As de Chœur, the church is the object of all the attention and many actions of restoration concern the building and the furniture.
