Pour les longs chemins herbus, riches en couleurs, contournant le bourg et s’enfoncant dans les plaines ondoyantes sous le vent. Au détour de l’un d’eux la mare de Troquetil offre un bel exemple, restauré, de lavoir à crémaillère.

Un peu d’histoire :
Le village ainsi nommé par les vikings, s’inscrit dans un habitat traditionnel haut-normand, constitué de colombages et de torchis.
Près du château du XVIIIème siècle, l’église est ornementée d’exceptionnelles peintures murales datant du XVIème siècle et rappelant la légende de Saint-Christophe, patron des voyageurs. Le seigneur Guy d’Aché mort en 1608 y a laissé son gisant de marbre.

A bit of history :
The village, named by the Vikings, is part of a traditional High Normandy housing, made up of half-timbering and cob.
Near the 18th century castle, the church is decorated with exceptional wall paintings dating from the 16th century and reminding the legend of Saint-Christophe, patron saint of travellers. The lord Guy d’Aché, who died in 1608, left his marble tombstone here.
